Project Information
SWISS TRADE POLICY AND EXPORT PROMOTION PROGRAMME (SwissTrade) is a technical cooperation programme between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Switzerland, funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The project is designed to support Vietnam in enhancing its competitiveness and achieving deeper integration into global value chains.

Project Objectives
Key Components
Policy (Trade Policy)
Support the Ministry of Industry and Trade in developing Vietnam’s Export–Import Strategy through 2030.
Organize in-depth training programmes on trade policy analysis for government officials.
Conduct sectoral strategic studies to provide in-depth insights into high-potential export sectors.
PPD (Public–Private Dialogue)
Establish a sustainable Public–Private Dialogue (PPD) mechanism to facilitate private-sector participation in policy-making processes.
Organize thematic policy dialogues on practical issues such as distribution and franchising, green trade, and trade facilitation.
Provide training on negotiation and policy advocacy skills to enhance officials’ capacity for effective policy formulation.
ICG (Innovation & Competitiveness)
Establish and implement the Innovation and Competitiveness Grant (ICG) fund to provide financial support for innovative initiatives led by BSOs.
Promote SME integration into global value chains through technical assistance and market-linkage activities.
Strengthen financial management and operational capacity of supported BSOs.
